Responsibilities

  • Assistswith preparation and monitoring of annual comprehensive budgets and allfinancial reports for the  board
  • Implements financial policies and procedures
  • Participates in the development of budgetproposals
  • Assists in the financial audits, if and whenrequired
  • Maintainsappropriate filing of financial records, and ensures proper backup of all files
  • Providesadvice and recommendations on financial procedures and practices, as required.
  • Bankingand money handling
  • Performsall bank account reconciliations on a monthly basis and when needed,communicates with the bank to understand and reconcile any discrepancies
  • Preparesrequests for cash and ensures all disbursements have appropriate supportingdocuments
  • Monitors,manages and reconciles petty cash.
  • Producesinvoices and ensures they contain the necessary information to facilitatetimely payment
  • Followsup on outstanding invoices
  • Identifiesfunds received, matches them to programmes/projects or activities and ensuresthey are recorded manually or in the computer system.
  • Ensuresall expenses and requests for disbursements are approved by the appropriateauthority
  • Preparesall cheques within specified time lines
  • Ensuresall accounts payable are recorded manually or in the computer system
  • Followsup on invoice discrepancies with suppliers.
  • Prepares payroll on a timely basis, as per theassociation’s policy.
  • Assisting in the preparation of budget
  • Managing records andreceipts
  • Reconciling daily,monthly and yearly transactions
  • Preparing balancesheets
  • Processing invoices
  • Developing an in-depthknowledge of organizational products and process
  • Providing customerservice to clients
  • Resolve financialdisputes raised by the customer service and sales teams
  • Being a key point ofcontact for other departments on financial and accounting matters
  • Supporting the FinanceManager with projects and tasks when required

 

 Requirements and Skills

  • Proven work experience as a Finance Officer or similar role
  • Solid knowledge of financial and accounting procedures
  • Experience using financial software
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Knowledge of financial regulations
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills
  • Sharp time management skills
  • Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data
  • BSc degree inFinance, Accounting or Economics
